On September 24, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), the 48th WorldSkills Competition was in full swing. Inside this venue known as the "Four-Leaf Clover," skilled competitors from around the world were competing head-to-head in 64 events; outside the arena, a signing ceremony also drew the attention of the Chinese and international vocational education communities—China POCY Group and Pearson, the world's leading education group, officially signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Master Skills, Change Your Future | China Craftsman Valley Delegation visited the 48th WorldSkills Competition
On September 22, 2026, the 48th WorldSkills Competition grandly opened in Shanghai. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the competition. Premier of the State Council Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony and declared the competition open. A total of 1,385 young skilled competitors from 68 countries and regions gathered in Shanghai for this grand event known as the “WorldSkills Olympics.” On the morning of the 23rd, the WorldSkills Congress, themed “Skills Light Up the Future,” kicked off as the core academic and policy forum under the framework of the competition. Premier Li Qiang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

On September 21, the signing ceremony between China POCY Group and the UNESCO International Centre for Higher Education Innovation (Shenzhen, China) (hereinafter referred to as the "Innovation Center") was held at the Beijing Caofeidian International Vocational Education Town. The two parties officially announced the joint establishment of the "China Craftsman Valley International Industry-Education Integration Base (Shenzhen, China)." Themed “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainable Development in Education,“ the conference brought together experts, scholars, and frontline educators from the fields of education, technology, and industry worldwide. Participants shared new theories, technologies, and practices in smart education, exploring sustainable pathways for the deep integration of AI and education, and seeking new models for equitable, inclusive, and high-quality global education development in the intelligent era. Vice Minister of Education Ren Youqun attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote address.

First Cohort of 38 Students under the UNESCO "Global Skills Youth Scholarship Program" Arrives at China Craftsman Valley Institutions
On July 1, Caofeidian, Tangshan, Hebei welcomed a special group of visitors. Thirty-eight young students from seven countries—Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Tanzania, Madagascar, Jamaica, and Costa Rica—arrived successively at China Craftsman Valley · Beijing Caofeidian International Vocational Education Town. They are the first cohort of international students under the "100 Global Skills Youth Scholarship Program," jointly launched by the UNESCO Global Skills Academy (UNESCO-GSA) and China POCY Group. Hailing from Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, these young talents, driven by their dreams of skill acquisition, have traveled across vast distances to officially embark on a three-month "Chinese + Vocational Skills" study program.
