Project Information

Chengdu International Vocational Education Town is one of the flagship projects jointly planned, developed, and operated by China POCY Group. It also serves as the benchmark demonstration project for the Group’s “Vocational Education Town 4.0 Model.

” Envisioned with a national perspective, international vision, and a forward-looking strategy, the project adheres to principles of openness, shared growth, and green integration. Vocational education is positioned as the core driver, with ecological landscapes, park-style urban development, and industry-city integration serving as defining features. With a total planned investment of USD 3.93 billion and a land area of 35 square kilometers, the project is designed to accommodate a population of 250,000. It spans both the eastern and western sides of Longquan Mountain, forming a dual-wing development layout. The western section, located in Jintang County, is largely completed and currently hosts six educational institutions with over 80,000 students and staff. The eastern section, situated in Huaizhou New Town, comprises three institutions with approximately 20,000 students and faculty.

On July 14, 2020, a centralized signing ceremony titled “Tianfu New Craftsman Valley: Creating the City of the Future” was held at the Chengdu International Conference Center. China POCY Group and its affiliate, Craftsman Valley Education Technology Group, signed strategic cooperation agreements with the governments of Jintang County and Huaizhou New Town, assuming full responsibility for the operations and shared management of the “Three Schools and One Center” initiative in the eastern zone of the education Town. The project covers a total land area of approximately 436,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 680,000 square meters. As of August 12, 2023, 21 buildings, including teaching blocks, dormitories, and shared facilities, have been fully completed and are in use. By 2025, Chengdu International Vocational Education Town is projected to house 11 educational institutions with a combined population of over 120,000 students and faculty, having cumulatively trained more than 350,000 skilled professionals for Chengdu’s manufacturing sector.

China POCY Group, in collaboration with UNESCO, the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, and the Jintang County Government, will jointly promote the establishment of the UNESCO International Center for Industry-Education Integration (Category II), the Headquarters of the International Industry-Education Alliance, and the China Craftsman Headquarters in Chengdu. This will empower the city in five dimensions: from science to innovation, technology to services, employment to entrepreneurship, education to industry, and domestic to international outreach. The goal is to transform Chengdu International Vocational Education Town into the Version 4.0 model of modern Chinese vocational education—an internationally influential, distinctly Chinese, and uniquely Chengdu-style "First Town of Vocational Education in China."

In the future, Chengdu International Vocational Education Town will focus on serving the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle, the “5+1” key industries of Sichuan Province, and the “5+5+1” industrial framework of Chengdu Municipality. With a mission to serve the regional industrial system and cultivate competitive advantages, the city aims to build a comprehensive vocational education service system characterized by two core types and five categories, integrated with education, research, tourism, training, production, and competitions. It will form an education-industry ecosystem centered around application-oriented universities, “Double High Plan” institutions, specialized industry colleges, and full-chain pre- and post-employment education. Ultimately, it will become a cradle for skilled talent in the new era of Western China development, a key node for industry-city integration in the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, and a model zone for industry-education integration that embodies the vision of a modern park city.
