About TMI
Tangshan Maritime Institute ( School Code: 14696) is a provincial full-time higher vocational college accredited by the Ministry of Education and approved by the People's Government of Hebei Province. The school is located in the Beijing Caofeidian International Vocational Education Town, Caofeidian District, Tangshan City, on the west-central coast of the Bohai Sea. It is an international characteristic college established by UNESCO as the "World Vocational and Technical Education and Training Base".
The school has 9 teaching units including the School of Marine Engineering, the School of Fisheries Economics, the School of Transportation, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Business and Tourism, the School of Digital Technology, the School of Sports and Art, the School of Marxism, and the School of International Education. There are more than 40 majors, including ship electrical engineering technology, port machinery and intelligent control, aquaculture technology, aircraft electromechanical equipment maintenance, industrial robot technology, cross-border e-commerce, big data technology, and international cruise crew management. Students and faculty of the school have collectively won 116 awards in high-level skills competitions at the provincial level or above. The school has also successfully hosted several major provincial competitions, including the Hebei Province Digital Technology Application Skills Competition. Tangshan Maritime institute has always adhered to the construction of teachers' ethics as the core of the teaching team construction, and the teaching innovation team and the professor team have been promoted in coordination. It employs project-based instruction during class and intelligent cloud-based self-learning platforms after class. The curriculum includes education on professional ethics and workplace readiness to develop comprehensive talents skilled in technical expertise, practical application, and management in the digital age. The school has a strong innovation culture, actively participates in national and provincial competitions, and has won 1 first prize, 5 second prizes, and 9 third prizes at the provincial level.

School of Sports and Art
The School of Sports and Art upholds the motto “Virtue across the Four Seas, Integrity Leads to the Future,” and focuses on the holistic development of students in the areas of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. The school aims to build a knowledge system conducive to the overall physical and mental development of students and to cultivate students with profound knowledge, advanced techniques, refined skills, broad vision, and a generous spirit. Adhering to the development philosophy of "meeting demands, collaborative innovation, and gathering unique strengths," the school deepens the integration of industry, academia, research, and education to cultivate application-oriented talents with technical skills. Faculty and students have achieved outstanding results in various academic and skill competitions, including two third prizes in provincial-level skill contests and one provincial-level research project. Faculty artworks were also exhibited at the Carrousel du Louvre during the “2023 International Art Co-Creation Exhibition.”

School of Marxism
Guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the School of Marxism fully implements the national directives on ideological and political education in colleges and universities. With the mission of cultivating qualified builders and successors of socialism, the school insists on the integrated advancement of ideological and political courses and curriculum-based ideological instruction, maximizing the role of ideological and political theory courses as the primary channel. The school comprises seven teaching and research sections and offers eight courses: An Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Rule of Law, Current Affairs and Policies, History of the Communist Party of China, Mental Health Education, Labor Education, and Military Theory. In addition to teaching these ideological and political theory courses, the departments also provide psychological counseling services for all students and guide student societies related to ideological and psychological development.
School of International Education
The School of International Education actively implements the university’s strategy aligned with the national “Belt and Road” Education Action Plan, dedicated to cultivating international students with understanding, friendship, and love toward China. The school vigorously promotes international education in China, clarifies responsibilities in international student recruitment, education, and support services, and builds a systematic, scientifically regulated, and efficiently operating management and service system to enhance the quality and effectiveness of international education.
The school plans to enroll both degree and non-degree language students. Degree programs include Business English, International Trade, and Cross-border E-commerce. Non-degree programs mainly offer Chinese language training for international learners.
