To accelerate the advancement of its internationalization strategy, deepen exchanges and cooperation with high-level institutions in Southeast Asia, and comprehensively enhance teaching standards and training capacity, from June 16 to 17, Wang Yanting, President of Caofeidian College of Technology (CCT), led a high-level delegation to Malaysia for an educational exchange visit. The delegation included Vice President Zhang Ning and Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office Chang Haiman. The visit aimed to share CCT’s innovative practices in international vocational education, expand access to high-quality international cooperation resources, and actively seek multi-sector collaboration opportunities, thereby creating a broader platform for the international development of faculty and students.
On the morning of June 16, the delegation visited City University Malaysia, where they were warmly received by Vice President Dr. Chow Sze Joon and Director of International Affairs Ms. Zhang Wenxi. The two sides held a roundtable meeting for in-depth discussions on topics such as educational cooperation and talent cultivation.
Key negotiations focused on joint academic advancement programs for students and teachers, aiming to enhance academic credentials and professional skills through co-training and academic exchange. Both sides also provided detailed introductions to the economic characteristics, competitive disciplines, and employment market demands of their respective regions, reaching a strong consensus on cooperation in nursing and computer science. Plans were made to jointly develop curricula, internships, practical training programs, and collaborative research projects.
In response to language challenges faced by students studying abroad, the parties discussed tailored language training solutions, such as pre-departure language enhancement courses, to better prepare students for overseas study and improve cross-cultural communication skills.

After the meeting, Dr. Chow and other representatives guided the delegation on a campus tour, focusing on the university’s innovative, personalized, and modern teaching facilities and environment. This visit marked a substantive step forward in cooperation between CCT and City University Malaysia, with plans to gradually expand multi-level, wide-ranging international education collaboration.

On June 17, the delegation visited Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), where they were warmly welcomed by President Prof. Datuk Ewe Hong Tat, Associate Professor Lai Soon Onn (Director of the Department of International Affairs), Mr. Lee Chye Fong (Director of the Centre for International Student Recruitment and Educational Collaboration), and Ms. Ng Yi Qin (Assistant Director, Department of International Affairs).

At the meeting, the two sides reached consensus in four key areas:
- Establishing a regular inter-university exchange mechanism through online academic seminars, in-person faculty and student exchanges, and mutual sharing of teaching philosophies and research outcomes to promote resource sharing in internationalized education.
- Designing customized overseas study programs combining UTAR’s strengths and CVTC’s specialized disciplines, with academic and practical components in fields such as nursing, engineering, artificial intelligence, and humanities and arts.
- Developing student exchange and internship programs, including matching internship placements and cross-cultural practice training, to provide students with opportunities for overseas corporate internships and enhance their global employability.
- Linking faculty development with academic advancement, promoting visiting scholar programs, supporting faculty exchanges for research collaboration and course delivery, and strengthening the international profile of teaching teams.
After the meeting, the UTAR leadership accompanied the delegation on a campus tour, during which both sides exchanged views on joint construction of training bases and sharing of research platforms, laying a solid groundwork for project implementation.
On June 17, the delegation visited UCSI University, where they were welcomed by Mr. Anson (Special Assistant to the Director of International Student Admission), Ms. Chen Shijin (Officer, International Student Admission), Prof. Ir. Dr. Jimmy Hong (Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Technology & Built Environment), and Ts. Dr. Raenu A/L Kolandaisamy (Dean, Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology).
Discussions focused on academic advancement programs in computer-related fields. The parties conducted a systematic discussion on programs in computer engineering, artificial intelligence, and big data technology, analyzing student entry requirements (academic background, language proficiency, prerequisite courses) and future career prospects)

The UCSI representatives introduced their admission standards for computer-related majors, including GPA and IELTS/TOEFL requirements, as well as practice-oriented curriculum components such as corporate internships and research projects, highlighting the integration of theory and application.
The two sides agreed to optimize CCT students’ preparatory process for overseas admission through pre-program academic guidance and intensive language training, thereby improving application competitiveness. After the meeting, the UCSI leadership guided the delegation through the computer science and engineering laboratories, exchanging ideas on building collaborative research platforms and implementing joint graduation projects. This visit expanded CCT’s international cooperation network in information technology, with UCSI University’s globally-oriented computer science programs and industry resources offering a high-quality academic pathway for CCT students.
