01 Joining Forces with the Alliance and Entering the Global Digital Education Network

The World Digital Education Alliance was established in response to the spirit of the United Nations Transforming Education Summit and initiated under China’s leadership as a global educational cooperation organization. The Alliance was officially launched during the first World Digital Education Conference held in Shanghai in January 2024.Committed to building a global platform for dialogue, exchange, and practical cooperation in digital education, the Alliance aims to advance the comprehensive digital transformation of education, bridge the global digital divide, and promote equitable, inclusive, and high-quality educational opportunities for all.

To date, the Alliance has brought together 144 institutions from more than 40 countries and regions, including international organizations, leading universities, research institutions, and industry leaders. It has established a global educational ecosystem integrating the education chain, industrial chain, and innovation chain. Focusing on digital resource sharing, standards development, talent cultivation, and collaborative governance, the Alliance continues to promote the global circulation of high-quality MOOCs and digital learning materials, helping countries address the challenges of educational digitalization and emerging as a key force driving global educational transformation.
